Taiwan Expo 2019 in Penang


Taiwan Expo 2019 presented Taiwan as a really innovative country which happened for two days, 5th and 6th of July at Setia Spice Convention Centre, Penang. This is the first year that they've manage to exhibit in Penang as for the past 2 years they only held it in KL. I've always been a lover to Taiwan and this Expo really opened my eyes. Now I wanna go there even more! There were more than 140 Taiwanese manufacturers exhibiting their products across 110 booths to provide visitors the opportunity to learn more about Taiwan’s international renowned smart city technologies, Industry 4.0, green technology, medical care, trending lifestyle products, tourism, bubble tea and Taiwanese delicacies as well as a special Halal Taiwan Pavilion. The 2-days event is main objective is to allow the significant business collaboration opportunities between Taiwan and Malaysia.




The Chairman of TAITRA, Mr. James C.F. Huang gave his introduction speech during the opening ceremony alongside with the guests of honour, Penang’s Chief Minister YAB Mr. Chow Kon Yeow and the Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia H.E. Ms. Anne Hung. Taiwan Expo 2019 in Penang this year  provides the perfect opportunity for business owners in the northern region to find out more about Taiwanese products and services. The 2-day expo event features 12 themed pavilions with 2 exhibit areas which covers products and services under 6 major segments:
“Smart City & Industry 4.0”,
“Green Tech”,
“Healthcare”,
“Halal Taiwan”,
“Taiwan Lifestyle”
and “Tour Taiwan”.

Taiwan Smart City Pavilion showcased solutions comprising of seamless hardware and software integration for the cities of the future; Taiwan Excellence Pavilion showcased some  leading brands in Taiwan’s Industrial 4.0 revolution like  health management solutions by Advantech, HiWin’s robotic arm and also smart retail technologies. The Taiwan Green Products Pavilion featured  varies low-carbon green products, energy efficient products and technologies. the Taiwan Healthcare Pavilion introduced a  state-of-the-art medical related products which includes PhotoTherapy, a breakthrough cancer treatment.



Taiwan Halal & Bubble Tea Pavilion and the Taiwan Agriculture Pavilion aims to strengthen cooperation between Malaysia and Taiwan’s halal industry by showcasing  some of Taiwan’s best halal certified products to Malaysia as a show of Taiwan’s aspirations to work with Malaysian counterparts to reach the global halal market of 1.8 billion people. Taipei Your Partner introduces Malaysians to the popular travel platform, KKday, to help in travel planning. Not only that, innovative products from different industry was also exhibited and I was just wow-ed by them. (read my other blog to know more).



Taiwan Expo 2019 can be seen as the perfect platform for Malaysians to learn more about Taiwan and also business owners who wish to expand their business with Taiwan products or services. There were so many different industries involved in exhibiting their innovative products and services which some are really eye opening. Being able to have a look at what Taiwan has to offer shows that Taiwanese are creative in their innovations.


Taiwan Expo 2019 main aim in Penang is to introduce Taiwanese information and communication technologies, smart traffic solutions, innovative products and e-commerce solutions that could help Penang achieve its aspirations of becoming ASEAN’s Silicon Valley. I had a good stroll throughout the whole expo and all I can say is, Taiwan you're going places. If Taiwan Expo would be back next year I'll definitely be there again.
